Master Requirements
Duration
The capacity of one side of a vinyl record is physically limited; the more audio you squeeze onto a side, the quieter and shallower the eventual cut will be. For best sound quality, do not exceed the optimal target times. Long albums should always be split into a 2xLP.
| Size | Speed | Single / EP | Optimal Album | Absolute Maximum |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12" | 33 ⅓ | 13 min | 23 min | 26 min |
| 12" | 45 | 9 min | 15 min | 18 min |
Audio Files
.wav .aiff
Please provide uncompressed audio files (no MP3s). Combine all tracks for each side into a single continuous file (one file per side), including your desired pauses between tracks. Name the files to clearly indicate the catalog number and side (e.g., EXAMPLE001_A_44100Hz_24bit.wav). Ensure all audio uses the same sample rate and bit depth, with a minimum of 44.1 kHz and 16-bit.
Cue Sheet
.txt .pdf .doc
Along with the audio, you must provide a cue sheet. This document must include the record sides (A, B), track order (A1, A2), exact start and end times, and the mastering engineer's contact details.
EXAMPLE001 cue sheet
A1: 00:00.00 - 04:47.20
A2: 04:47.20 - 08:13.55
A3: 08:13.55 - 13:02.00
B1: 00:00.00 - 03:33.33
B2: 03:33.33 - 09:25.80
B3: 09:25.80 - 15:37.25
Delivery
.zip
Package the cue sheet and all audio files into a single ZIP file named with your catalog number (e.g., EXAMPLE001-master.zip). Once archived, send the ZIP file to us for review.
